Hours:

I work at LynLake Psychotherapy (accepts insurance) Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-2pm, in person or telehealth. I’m at at Allison Cross, LLC, (accepts private pay, FSA/HSA, and Out of Network Insurance coverage) from 10am-7pm Wednesdays, in person or telehealth, and by appointment other weekdays for telehealth only.

With a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I work with teen and adult individuals, couples/partnerships, and families.

Couples/Partnerships Therapy – Healthy primary relationships should offer each partner a sense of safety and warmth. I approach with the philosophy that no individual is “to blame” for relational distress; the relational dynamic is what we will examine and nurture in session. We will look at your presenting issue(s), get curious about the root causes, examine unhelpful patterns/cycles, and develop insights and tools to create better relational health. I draw on Attachment Theory and use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Techniques to support partners in resolving conflict, restoring satisfaction, and negotiating hot topics. I frequently work with couples on: communication, conflict resolution, parenting disagreements, pre-marital preparation, sexual concerns, navigating polyamory, blending families, healing from infidelity, increasing an atmosphere of connection and mutual support, and other topics.

Family Therapy – In my work with families, I invite participants to look at the family as a system. In this system, dynamics can be healthy and supportive to all members, or out-of-balance which then causes distress for one or more members. Our goal will be to bring your family into a healthy balance where each person feels heard, respected, and valued within the system. I work with both adult relationships, and adult(s)-and-youth. Our goal will be to improve communication, increase feelings of love and acceptance, and shift troubled dynamics to more-healthy ones. Frequent topics addressed in my practice include: improving parent-child relationships, handling concerns around aging, processing past hurts, negotiating developmentally appropriate responsibilities with children, addressing recurring conflicts, supporting families navigating LGBTQ+ issues (particularly supporting families in which children are exploring shifts in gender identity), supporting family blending, addressing grief and loss, processing illness, and establishing feelings of safety or closeness.

Individual Therapy – My approach with clients is informal and collaborative–you are the expert in your life, while I offer support, reflection, and tools to grow. My work blends multiple evidence-based theories including EFT, IFS, Narrative, and somatic-based interventions.

About Me As A Clinician: With warmth, humor and “real talk,” I aim to support clients in navigating personal and interpersonal challenges, and creating authentic lives that feel in integrity with their values. My goal is to create a safe space where together we can get curious about how personal history, behaviors, and thought patterns impact quality of life and/or relationships. I believe that going to therapy is an act of courage, and work to ensure my clients feel heard, validated, cared for, and respected. You will find me kind, but also direct, and genuinely enthusiastic about your growth.

I have particular passion for working with artists, creatives, highly-intelligent people, spiritual seekers, emerging adults, women in mid-life, highly-sensitive people, folks who embrace counter-culture, and clients identifying as LGBTQ+. Other clinical interests include the healing potential of the arts and of psychedelics in the therapeutic realm. Both personally and professionally, I care deeply about social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
